Rotary Club District 7930 Celebration of Our Heros

Malden Overcoming Addiction President, Paul Hammersley was recently honored at the Rotary Club District 7930 Celebration of Our Heroes Dinner held at the Danversport Yacht Club. All Rotary Clubs are invited to nominate a hero from their community and to present them with a Paul Harris Fellow recognition at this event. Many notable figures have been named Paul Harris Fellows including U.S. President Jimmy Carter, polio vaccine developer Jonas Salk and U.S. astronaut James Lovell. As part of the ceremony, Paul Harris Fellows receive a certificate and a pin. This recent ceremony added forty three new fellows from across the state.

Honored Fellows are recognized as heroes for the way they put others first and strive everyday to make the world a better place. This year's honorees were also said to have also gone above and beyond to help their community during the Covid 19 pandemic.

Malden Mayor Gary Christenson, Special Assistant to the mayor Maria Luise and many Malden Overcoming Addiction members were on hand as Paul received this prestigious award.
